Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz who was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was an editor and writer, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father is from the Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder as well as her entire family relocated to Mendocino, California at the age of seven. Ryder was only seven years old. They resided in an area without electric power. Ryder would read extensively due to the lack of television. Ryder began to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of twelve years old. In the year she turned 15, Ryder landed her very first role onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder endured bullying while in high school. She thought that by becoming an actor, her bullying could be reduced. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. Still, she kept chasing the dreams she had. In 1988 she had her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued playing roles that were successful in various films. In 1993, Ryder was in the running two times for Academy Awards.
